CONCEPT
Bizzarro is a range of deliciously playful beverages that subvert a traditional liqueur in a fun, contemporary way. Derived from the Latin 'aperire', a bitter aperitif is a pre-meal drink designed “to open” the stomach before dining. However this particular concoction is also handcrafted to open your mind with its surprising subversion of a time-honored drink.
Contemporary winemaker Greg Grigoriou approached Joyride to design the complete branding and packaging of this new range of fun drinks. Joyride developed this signature bottle label to lead the Bizzarro selection and signify the quality and elegance of this product, while making a nod to the history of this drink.
The label design introduces Bizzarro to the spirits market using visual reference to the Italian Art Deco stylings of the long-established aperitif brands found along the bartenders back shelf, such as Campari and Aperol. However look closer and you’ll find a peculiar world full of visual surprises and absurd details that separate Bizzarro as the contemporary counterpart.
